Prediction

Let me make a prediction regarding the first effect the public will see.

I predict that within a week, every rest stop on I-5 and I-90 will be closed. The bureaucrats know how to get even!

Very doubtful! If they do maybe you should spend the money that you would have on your car tabs to rent a portapodie, or better yet check this website out. www.bumperdumper.com

First of all, the annual cost of maintaining the rest stops along the interstates is minimal (clean a toilet, restock the TP, empty a trash can or two...). Besides, if the state closed them down, where would the DOT employees go for their afternoon nap?

Good point!! There's one place we won't be wasting anymore money- those afternoon naps!

Why do we need all the rest stops we have? Some appear to be located very poorly, IMO. On I-90 there are two, one on each side of Moses Lake, in fairly close proximity to Moses Lake. There is one close to west Spokane, and there is another I can think of near Ellensburg. Due t freeway access, travelers can easily exit and re-enter from these cities. I-5 is so built up there are many places for travelers to rest and refresh without using DOT rest stops. And in eastern Washington, I'll bet the economically hard-pressed small towns would really appreciate the business.

If the politicians even try "to get even" vote them out of office and vote for someone who will do a great job w/ the rest of the 98% of the funds that remain.
