Surprised this is so out in the open.

Without Y2K, there's trouble ahead.

Gregg, see the appropriate archive at the preps forum--there are several recent interesting threads on GM/GE foods and additional links too.

Terminator technology is not the only thing we have to be watchful of. These companies (Monsanto, Astra and Seneca to name a few) are also genetically modifying seeds that require CTAs or chemical trait activators requiring the seed purchaser to also purchase the chemical cocktail enabling the seed to grow properly.

A different twist on the power play to strangle and control our global food supply.

I planted some tomatoes, lettuce, etc. in my yard. I bought seeds from local nursery. Are all or most seeds sold at nursery, Lucky... terminator seeds? I'm amateur and like to understand how these seeds are worse than non-hybrid seeds? They seem to grow and produce fine. Does it mean my vegetables will eventually die off and I can't use their seeds to grow more vegetables? Please explain to me. Thanks

Debbie, So far...(!) the Terminator technology and the newer CTA technology are only used for commercial crops. Small comfort, since Monsanto supplies about 80% of the world's soybean seeds, and soybeans are the most widely and variously used crop in the world. Most people in the world are eating commercially grown food rather than that from their back yards. AND, (more bad news yet..) These companies are attempting, and have succeeded in several countries, to patent these technologies for ALL food crops, not just the relatively few commercial crops that have been put into "production".

For a larger view, start looking into large chemical companies in general. Many are direct or indirect descendants (can you spell B-A-Y-E-R ?) of I G Farben, the WWII German company that manufactured zyklon B, the gas that was used in the concentration camp "showers".

These trans-national companies manufacture the pesticides and herbicides that now saturate our air and soil, fertilizers (many from municipal sludge containing numerous chemical toxins, heavy metals and dioxin), and the pharmaceutical drugs that keep us "healthy". These same companies are the ones that have purchased seed companies around the world and reduced the availability of traditional and heirloom seed varieties by an estimated 90% in the last 10 years.
