India Is Sleeping

greenspun.com : LUSENET : HumptyDumptyY2K : One Thread

India seems to be sleeping. Most private citizens are unaware of the problem. Among those who have heard the problem, barely anybody considers it seriously. And the government is just now waking up putting up ads asking businesses to fight the millenium bug. And not a word about private preparations. The leaders are not uttering anything about Y2K. Is there anybody concerned?

Here in the U.S. we seem to get the message that we'll be basically OK, with a few minor glitches, but elsewhere in the world people might have some major Y2K problems. And then we are led to believe that the problems elsewhere won't have an impact on U.S. citizens. This sounds very unrealistic, doesn't it? We have to care about other countries and other people. I wish I had something more helpful to say.

India's main hope is that it may be less dependent on computerized systems to an extent that, relative to Western countries, will offer some protection from failure to fix systems. In some ways, Indians may be far less vulnerable than we are. If you are in India, I hope you can look around and see likely sources of food and water in the coming year. If you know any followers of Avatar Meher Baba, give them my regards.

There have been any number of articles in the press (e.g., Times of India) that told of specific remediation and preparations underway. You might want to check out Gary North's site, in the "Government" topic.

I also live in India. I totally agree with you. Disaster is imminent.

India is blessed with saints and sages. May the holy vibrations of thousands of years of truth-saturation come to India's aid during the Y2K devolution.

We are Kriya Yoga disciples of Sri Sri Paramahansa Yoganandaji. We are holding to peace, and preparing to the best of our ability. Prayers go out to India,
