gettin muh hands on butter powder

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) Preparation Forum : One Thread

Does anybody know of a food supplier that is shipping within a week or two? the last thing I need for my preps is some butter powder but I can't seem to find anybody who will ship in less than 4 weeks. Also, what is a reasonable price? Noah's Pantry in OK is selling 6 #10 cans of butter powder on sale for $131.10. but says four weeks delivery. Is that a good price? Anybody deal with this outfit?

Pricier but faster: adventurefoods.com (got my order within 10 days). Highly reliable, good people, backpacker suppliers, not Y2K dealers.

See main page for post re new catalogue, but don't know delivery times. Never ordered from these people, might be worth an initial small order to check.

Waltonfeed says their turnaround is about 2 weeks on cans now. See Stan's 14 days prep sites. Yes they carry butter powder...and lots more.

You can order butter powder in one pound sealed pouches from Frontier Herbs, in Norway, Iowa, for $8.90. They have a $20 minimum on orders, and are not a y2k business, but have been selling herbs and spices and other related items for about 25 years. They will ship by US Mail or UPS, and when I order from them,(which is about every 3 weeks...I offer their stuff as a service to the members of my food buying club) I usually receive it within 5 days (sometimes 4).

Their phone # is 1-800-669-3275.

I ordered from Custom Dried Foods as well and received the order within a few days. Great responses to questions.

I am trying to work out a cooperative preps buy on butter powder, dehydrated milk, powdered eggs, and cheese powder. The product comes in sealed 3.5 gallon buckets with oxygen absorbers and dessicants. I imagine each bucket might hold anywhere from 8 to 15 pounds of product, but I'll have to check this out. I'm still bickering on the prices with the fellow who offers these, but if you are interested, email me.

Sincerely, Stan Faryna
