Bunch of whiners

greenspun.com : LUSENET : I-695 Thirty Dollar License Tab Initiative : One Thread

All of you seem to be a bunch of big whiners who want to have big cars, drive on nice roads, have firefighters and EMT's come pry your fat butt out of your SUV when you crash it. But don't want to pay for a damn thing. No tab fees, No gas tax, whine whine whine. I am tired of subsidizing everyone else's driving.(gas and MVET do not cover 100% of road costs so it comes out of other funds that you pay if you drive or not) So I say NO gas tax, NO MVET, tax everyone for every mile they drive based on the weight of the car/rv etc.

Wrong.

We don't mind paying taxes, we just don't like to see our tax dollars squandered.

And since Washington is the sixth highest taxed state in the nation, 44 other states offer the same or better services than we do for less money. Most of these states don't have the economic advantages that we do such as Boeing (which, btw, pays NO sales, property, or B&O tax), Microsoft, the gateway to Pacific Rim trading, and so on. And the taxes we are paying are confiscatory. We're giving close to half of our income to the government and what are we getting for it? Asinine ideas like HOV lanes and 19th century mass transit.

Wa is NOT the damn 6th highest taxed stat ein the nation Damn! quit parroting this silly propaganda. as for the 'person' who came Here to get the facts - Ph-lese getting facts here is like tring to get a shot of burbon at a baptist convention.

everyone says this will "fix" the tax system in this state, yeah like a vet "fixes" a dog

Ron says; everyone says this will "fix" the tax system in this state, yeah like a vet "fixes" a dog

The only type of information you have provided here is that you are hostile. Do you have some personal stake in the outcome? I have read a multitude of postings from both sides and I have concluded that the pro side has come much closer to presenting "facts" than the "anti" crowd. 1. Tab fees are to high... 2. Current system of Taxation needs to be controlled. If you have some "facts" you wish to present, please post.

RON,

First of all this is a discussion form for pro I-695. Just because you don't believe in it doesn't meen you should post such a bogus messege. I think your efforts would be better spent at the no I-695 site, where there is no discussion forum. By the way, this is a democratic societey not communistict society. The sky will not fall after tuesday nov 2. The I-695s messege is quite clear its time for government to change, and "WE THE PEOPLE" will vote for it. If you honestly believe the propoganda against 695, your as foolish as the rest of them. There is no way the reduction of 2.2% of the budget will dismise all services such as police, fire, roads, and so-on. If by chance their is some Kaos created by 695, I guess us voters will have the chance to vote on ratification or new initiatives next year. One year should be a big deal. This initiative is not only about a $30. tab fee, but a change of control of our taxes. Its about time we have control of our taxes. Taxation without representation is not what it was ment to be.

The only facts you need to know are: if you want it, YOU pay for it! and stop forcing me and my family into the circle of socialism.

Look at all the wasteful things gov't CAN eliminate(call your rep for the fact that they CAN) like the 7 million dollar elevator. Go look at one billion and one reasons on this forum and look for the url to the governor's budget-you'll find some waste there that CAN be eliminated.

Not ONE job needs to be lost. It is such a CON-JOB from the no side.
