Answers

Russia might be incapable of providing even its honored guests (nevermind the masses) with basic human services. Meanwhile, official sources in the USA recommend preparing for a short (variable length) winter storm.

Having a week's supply of food and water along with a few voltive candles is just the thing for dealing with the political and economic impact such chaos in Russia might have on the typical American.

It took me years to get over the impression that most people are stupid, and now this.
