You mean like the uniformed deputy chief of police for Vancouver that drove a "for official use only" car to the taping of "Town Hall" in Portland tonight (Weds)? So she could speak out against 695? Like that?

I see our elected leaders are only vocalizing their opposition to I- 695 in direct response to questions asked of them again (RIGHT): Friday, October 29, 1999 Locke warns again of I-695 consequences

KIRO TV & ASSOCIATED PRESS SPOKANE (AP) -- It was a simple question from a child: How do you like being governor?

Gov. Gary Locke said he enjoys his work, though there are "good days and bad days.'

Then -- apparently fearing more bad days in the not-too-distant future -- he launched into a now-familiar litany of dire predictions about Initiative 695. http://www.seattleinsider.com/news/1999/10/29/695.html

Take good notes (videos are even better) and turn anything suspect over to the PDC. They work slow, but they DO get there sometimes.

I think that the legislators and other elected officials who use the threat of ethics law violations to remain quiet on I-695 are simply cowards. I elected this people to work on my behalf, and I believe it is incumbent upon them to explain to us exactly what they think of this initiative and exactly what they would do if it passes or doesn't pass. First ammendment rights apply to elected officials as well. We don't own them, and as long as they aren't actively soliciting during the performance of their official duties, let them talk.

I can just here all the anti-tax whiners complaining to their elected officials about "why didn't you tell us" when the inevitable service cuts from I-695 happen. Vote NO on Tuesday!

Mr. Maw: we the people don't own any politician (you're absolutely right), we just paid for them, but plenty of special interest pickpockets do!! That's the main reason to vote YES..YES!! on I695
