Buying new EOS 5 in Canada

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Canon EOS FAQ forum : One Thread

Two-part question about the EOS 5:

1. How does someone in Toronto -- i.e. me -- buy it? Do I have to go through a U.S. mail-order house?

2. If I do that, how do I get warrantee service for it in Toronto?

Buy a grey market EOS 5 from B&H. They will handle the warranty, if your local Canon service center does not (most reports indicate they will). Besides your more likely to do something to void the warranty--drop it, get it all wet, have it stolen--before the warranty period ends, which is not all that long to begin with.

Canon's optional extended 5 year camera warranty is a wise investment, and costs around $50.00 in the U.S.
