Did anyone watch CSpan tonight on subject of Y2K & schools?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

During this program there was mention of a research project at the University of Michigan. They had stored brains in a refrigerator and there was a Y2K failure in the refrigerator and they lost their samples that were stored in it.

Does anyone have a link to a story on this or any information on it?

Any comments on the general subject of the schools not being ready for Y2K?

Problems with Y2K and public schools got flogged on our local radio news several times today. Somewhere, someone is claiming that up to 1000 schools may have to close due to physical plant problems from Y2K.

Of course, every Joe and Jane listening to this went on their merry way because none of those 1000 schools will be *their* school.

At least now we know what happened to Koffinsky's brain...

LOON,

I heard the brains were stored at the Michigan "POLLY"technical Univ. refrigerator, right next to the canned hams, and one of the students mistakenly pulled out the brain thinking it was the ham and now there is a looming case of "Polly" disease ready to breakout in Michigan. Further checking uncovers the alumnus from the school which includes Flint, Decker and a host of other (ill)luminaries !!!!

This all gives a new meaning to the term "a no brainer"!!

I did not see the CSpan item and I do not know about Michigan. I do recall during the recent power outage earlier this year in New York City, a research facility at a New York hospital did not have power and its research tissue, including brains, was jeopardized. The brains thawed.
