I was thinkin we could all buy tickets at some nominal price, maybe $1 a ticket. Then the winner gets a gift certificate at Real Goods or something. Whaddya say?

If we were in the same area the logistics of doing it wouldn't be too bad. I personally like raffles.

I realize that a traditional raffle wouldn't work. Thats why I'm suggesting a mail order prize. Have everyone send their money to a reputable place - and then the winner can order from a catalog. we would have to decide ahead of time which place we wanted to have the raffle at. I suggested Real Goods just because they have some great items there (solar powered radios, nicad batteries etc...)

Isn't a raffle illegal if it is not for a non-profit organization? I just always thought so. Sort of like the bingo law or something.
