Hi Y'all. Did any of you expect things to be this good this late?

I guess I'm a pessimist, but I'm suprised that with 68 days to go, little is shaking! Dropping by to say hello. Its a real hoot to read y'all again.

Owl, Hi! Great spin, huh? I though by the end of August we'd be in a downward spiral, emotionwise. Nah.

This Halloween is really spooky!

I was thinking about you today. Must be Karma or something.

Please, old timers, help me out! This is "off topic", but I don't know where to go to ask the question and find some answers. I 'm counting on you to advise...

We live within 2 miles of the State Prison. I haven't found any credable information about what would happen if we have a 2-5 on the Yourden scale. What about a 5-9? Any help would be appreciated!

Lock and load or relocate.

Jenny, to get up to date info on safety of state prison system, talk to employees that would know about contingency plans. Surely someone you know also knows someone who works there that will help out on the info.

It's nice that things are still good. Unexpected and welcome.

What is this late...

The problems happening now are isolated enough for the masters of our media to bury. Most don't even think of a flood or hurricane until their couch starts floating away. Any panic starts later (late December?). How can the potential end of western civilization compete against the "greatest" teams of the decades playing in the world series.

History doesn't repeat itself, but our blindness and ignorance continues on...

A new computer geek (who is a DGI) was telling me about the last company he worked for that performed "remediation?" for doctors offices. He left because the people telling these Dr's everthing is y2k a ok were CLUELESS on the systems they were working on. BIO's must be that new movie? Right?

Sheeple, they want to be clueless and by golly they will be clueless. The crowd doesn't appreciate the messenger. Ask Cory, Gary etc... etc...

Jenny,

Perhaps you should use a new question to contact Porky. I hear he hails from Cell Bloc D...must know what the folks in the Big House think. LOL!

You rang?? Yup that's right, we all in here (the greystone hotel) are certainly prepping our skills for Y2K when we fully expect the doors to pop open, the guards to be missing, or maybe even gettin an early parole!! Our gubment probably has new jobs all lined up for us already. Personally I prefer 'daycare' work. Anybody seen 'Andy Ray'??????

While I expected a bit more panic by now, things are going pretty much like I anticipated. I still don't think the market will nosedive until late November at the earliest, probably more like mid December. After that, I expect more panic at the stores, but nothing much else until New Year's Evil.

I'm stunned but actually relieved. If they aren't going to prepare anyway, better not to have the economy and supply system wiped out for two to three months prior to the rollover. I think they are waiting till December (at least for those who are preparing). I have heard "them" talk about it.

Jenny:

There is no one answer. It depends greatly upon which prision you are near and what kind of prision it is, and who ( what state or federal ) runs it.

If things turn out to be a 2 or a 3, I think most prisions will be able to hold. They plan and train to deal with that leval of disruption all the time.

If it goes 4 or higher you had best get out of there quickly or as jailbird said " lock and Load "

Jenny Well you are 2 miles closer to a State Prison than I am. For the past year I've lost a lot of asleep over this one. I called my neighborhood jail and was informed that it held 200, nonviolent men only. The clerk acted like I was a kook when I asked numerous ??'s, she w/say gee your really concerned about this Y2K and admitted that she didn't have all the answers to my concerns. It was then that we purchased a 12 gauge & 22 rifle, and to our surprise we enjoy target shooting. On a seprate thread someone was talking about protecting their firewood from theft, I suggested using cow bells on chicken wire under a tarp, I also suggested carpet strips on top of fences in case someone wanted to hop over. Guess you can say, I'm not relocating.
