i'm in the process of purchasing a computer and dv video equipment....and was wondering if anyone had any advice on the best package/combination for under $3,000.

less than $3000? I have to agree with the iMac DV SE, and if you can find it cheap DEFINITELY Final Cut Pro. You can find it for less than $600 on ebay, but make sure its an unregistered original copy. Final Cut Pro is a hundred times better than any other software based system I have ever seen. I would strongly warn against using EditDV its crap... -Aaron

Just a couple of questions from a novice. What's the diff between Adobe Premiere and Final Cut Pro? What about the new DVD Studio Pro? Has anyone checked it out yet?I am also in the position of choosing either an XL1 or XM1 (GL1 in the US?) and can't spot the diff. Any opinions?
