I agree Anonymous99, PBS is becoming a Propaganda Broadcasting System.

But I will look for the program to see what the sheeple are being told. Could be interesting.

The 2 hour special on Maine PBS ran last week. The head of the 2 biggest electric utilities, the bankers association, head of red cross, and a few others inculding a general John Adams who is the head of emergencies services all whitewashed everything. No one of the panel admitted there was any possiblity of anything, even small might happen. the calls from viewers came in over both email and 800numbers and were really good, knowledgable, persistent, time and time again bringing the viewers to the idea that these guys and gals were pollys. The populace from theshow obviouslymight have been skewed, but it was clear the callers got it, and the panel were into trying to smooth things over completely. Charlie

Simple! PBS' philosophical alignment can be found within it's 1998 list of underwriters which reads like a who's who of Corporate America. You gots to follow da money to get to da truth. PBS will provide moderately positioned programming for it's audience which encourages annual reinvestments of those very generous corporate underwriters.

This guy sounds uninformed, at best. It is really shameful that people like this have the ability to adversely inpact a lot of people's thinking. I remember reading an editorial in our local newspaper, which by the way, really sucks anyway. He admitted that he knew next to nothing about computers or Y2K, but just *knew* everything was going to be all right. No need to worry. I really don't like being labeled as an extremist or survivalist. I really don't like being *labeled*. I am a perfectly normal (sort of) person who has researched this problem for the past year. I have my doubts that everything will be fine. That is why I am preparing for my family, just in case. I don't think this is wrong and I resent being labeled a hoarder or fanatic. Sorry, to rant, but this stuff really bites!
