I have asked on other forums if anyone who works in the federal government IT departments has any info they are willing to share about y2k glitches showing up. 10-1-99 was supposed to be the beginning of major problems. So far nothing nationwide and major has become evident to the general public. I would appreciate any solid info. It is sure not coming out in the news.

As has been said so many times when talking about the Jo Ann effect, wait until the first end-of-month processing which takes place in the new fiscal year. When the October close-out is run, that's going to be the high visibility test of the systems.

Any failures which have occurred to date have been in-house and could be kept behind closed agency doors. But when outside activities recieve erroneous checks or bills from gov.org, you can bet there will be press attention as those state governments, companies or little old ladies who get short changed start raising hell.
