It helps the economy and IT ISN'T GOING TO MAKE ANY DIFFERENCE: I-695 Opponents Well-Financed (10/21/99) Construction companies that could lose billions of dollars in business if Washington voters approve Initiative 695 are spending the most to try to send it down the tube.

A newspaper analysis of campaign finance reports filed with the state Public Disclosure Commission indicates the anti-695 campaign has raised a total of two million dollars. More than one-quarter of the total, 583-thousand dollars, has come from contractors, pavers, engineering firms and their associations

The biggest donations are 95-thousand dollars from Boeing and 60-thousand dollars each from Weyerhaeuser and Microsoft, and labor groups have given about 400-thousand dollars.
