Argentina seeks bids for Y2k work-Oct. 21,1999

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

Morning all, today's New York Times has a quarter page ad on page A6 from the Republic of Argentina. Anyone up for providing Y2k remediation and testing for Buenos Aires? Six different bid names, and it seems to cover everything from the Treasury to the Penitentiary. It isn't April Fools day today is it?

But then, according to the "US State Dept.Y2K Report" Argentina happens to be one of the BETTER prepared countries in the Western Hemiphere. Is there some sort of disconnect here? Or maybe the US State Dept. doesn't know the ROYAL F*CK what the F*CKEN HELL they are talking about, huh?

I'm down here in the trenches guys, I KNOW what I'm talking about. By the hard, first-hand evidence I have repeatdly supplied to this forum, I'm inclined to believe that yes, the US State Dept. etc., etc. (no need to repeat it, is there?)

BTW, if there are any US State Dept. or US govt. agents reading this post please report to your bosses what I have just stated above. Maybe they wake up. Probably not.

Hoff, Flint, Marma, Anita, Decker, Davis, where are youuuuuuuuuuuu??

Take care

They do call it "Foggy Bottom", for a fact.

Yeah, if they had started last week, it might have been OK. But starting next week, it might be cutting it a bit close.
