Heard on am radio (NYC) this a.m. that the Longshoremen out in Hawaii may be going on strike, causing panic buying on the Island already. Can others confirm this and make comments if it is true?

This happened to us in 1972(?). We had just moved back to Hawaii and everything we owned sat in Seattle, in a Matson container for a couple of months. Mom made a trip to the Salvation Army for kitchen stuff and we literally lived on the floor, camping until the strike was over, with little more than what flew over with us in our suitcases.

Y2K = Oahu = nightmare.
