So what happens after I-695 passes?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : I-695 Thirty Dollar License Tab Initiative : One Thread

What will we do? Where will we go? Will or personal lives be so devastated because we no longer have a forum to argue the opposition on?

Will we all post NYA NYA NYA NYA NYA or will the fight continue???

Oh yeah $30.00???? Who cares what the number is? Anybody who has decided to turn down I-695 because somebody decided $30.00 is a proper number is a total moron. Do you stand at the check-out line at the grocery store and demand that the clerk explain to you why a jar of mayonaisse is $1.89 and if the answer isn't to your liking do you put the mayo back???

I bet you put the mayo back..

Madjack

After the election,we have to monitor the pols to see who tries to

sabatoge or fight against the will of the people. That's why I think

that we must keep a site open to share info about what the pols are up

to.

Remember what happened to Tim Foley when he went against the will of

the people and actually filed suit to overturn the will of the people.

He's history---and we have to remind the pols that the same fate will

await them.

We have one party committed to making it work,we will just have to

watch them and hold their feet to the fire. We can do this much more

effectively if we maintain somewhat organized and share info and

tactics.

Liberal motto--"I've got mine, now here's how we'll distribute everyone elses."

I seriously do believe that we ought to get together an initiative to overturn the Washington laws that make it so difficult to contract out non-essential government functions. Right now, government functions have a monopoly in many areas. Monopolies tend to be inefficient. If we change the law, we can give them some health competition. If they can beat the competition, so much the better. If they can't, let's get our goods and services in the most efficient way possible.

How about it, Tim? Want to tilt at another windmill?

Cream-Skimming or Deficit Skimming? Robert Cervero University of California, Berkeley December 1988 The overall fiscal decline in America's mass transit industry, some argue, is endemic of a public sector that lacks any incentive to cut costs, innovate, and respond to changing patterns of demand. More and more, transit authorities around the country are attempting to inject greater competition into their transit systems by contracting out bus routes to private firms. Recent experiences suggest that competitive contracting can not only contain runaway cost increases but capture new ridership markets as well.

What do you say Gene and Billy? Want to do something that will help to provide transit at a lower cost to the public?
