NY METS and Y2K (prep usefullness)

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

While watching both the Mets and Yankees play last night, at 8:15pm, our power went out. We waited..it will be back on in a second. Nope, nothing. Yep, the whole neighborhood is out. My six year old burst from her bedroom, shouting "It's Y2K! It's Y2K!", running blindly about the house with six year old glee. That was worth a chuckle.

We lit some candles and grumbled over missing the ball games ..especially the Mets since they were tied up. Then, we all shouted at the same time, THE BAYGEN! .. and listened to the game via crank for the next fifteen minutes, until the lights came back on. Thank God for these silly preps. :-) I've been enjoying all this fun!

Sometimes I like to run around the hallways at my local community college turning off the lights in each individual classroom, and yell its Y2K, its Y2K!!!!

Umpires-2, Red Sox-0

Sorry Sox fans. I agree the umpires blew important calls, and I would have rather seen a fair and square game, just like everyone else. So, come Y2K,...when GI's rule the world, I will deem it so. Umpires who make bad calls will be sent up to the stands to sell peanuts, and replaced with sighted individuals.

PS...I have added some additional beans and rice to my preps for Derek Jeter, should he like to stop by.

Come on now. Does anyone really thing that the Red Sox could beat the Yankees?
