I capture using SPHINX Pro but get an invalid mpeg in NERO

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Video CD : One Thread

Hello I had the Sphinx Pro fro a while and wanted to start making VideoCD.

1) i SET the sphinx to VideoCD mode so all settings are now preset.

2) Record the video i want, looks good from here

3) Use Nero "VideoCD Maker " and in verifying the file, it comes back as an invalid Mpeg file.

Please help.

I had the same problem you did. Nero is very picky about what format your VideoCD is captured in. Nero will only accept files captured for NTSC, not PAL. For video captured for NTSC, make sure your video size is 352X240 at 29.97 frames per second. PAL's specs are 352X288 at 25 frames per second.

Thanks for the reply S.J. I sent an email to Sphinx support and they in turn sent an *.mpg file to me that they had no problems VCDing, it also blew up in NERO. The people at Sphinx say that they will work with Nero to iron out that bug. Until then does anyone have a step by step instructions on how to make a vcd with EZ Creator?
