thanks very much for the kind words. the background went black because it was in the shade and consisted of dark foliage and soil- that and the brightness of the petals made it drop way off. thanks again, greg

Nice technical shot. I like the crop. I like the placement of the pistals on the left and black on the right. To me these three elements cause a lot of interest.
