I may as well take a stab at a prediction, Dow drops 300 today. Hope you all got out in time!

Ok, I'm going to take a shot. The market will blow at least one of the three circuit breakers today.

All I will predict is a big plunge on the open, then alot of bullshit comments from talking heads, some of which might be market movers and then its going to depend on some actual market info like bad forecasts from some big companies or a bad economic indicator to give the market a final push down for the day. But if enough people brush off Greenspan then the stupid market will recover enough to make it a typical day. It doesnt help that this came out on a Friday, who wants to be holding stocks for the weekend with the possibility of Asia/Europe pushing things lower before Monday NY open.

Greenspan, what are you up to son ??.

I predict a lot of bullshit, period. As witnessed on this thread and over the past few days.

As long as the sheeple still think the market is a good investment, money will flow in on the drops. Remember, "wait for the dips to buy!" :-)

I'm investing in bovine fertilizer options. Looks like they're going UP!!!

Now to get some natural gas futures, what with all the beans being put away and all that...

For those investors just waking up, at 1200 hours GMT 34 out of 38 (90%) Asian/Pacific/European markets are in negative territory. The other day when this happened the DOW lost over 180. Today will be much worse. Sell early or lose your ass.

I don't think it will drop much only because I think the big money people are trying to desperately plug the holes in this crumbling dike.

Today is a good day for doomers. The market looks like it could drop big time. Futures are down around 13 at 7:40 Eastern.

Aren't you glad you sold all your stocks? Now you can say HA HA HA, I told you so.

It would be a better day for doomers if the power grid failed all across the world. Now that would be a good day for doomers.

-- BAW WAW WAW (hh@hh.hh), October 15, 1999.

Whatever you do, dont miss the market open today. You cant tell how the day will end, but I GUARANTEE you this open will be a hell of a doozy to watch. Hope you all get CNBC !.

-- hamster (hamster@mycage.com), October 15, 1999.

S&P down 25 at 7:45 eastern. Too bad the phones and power are on. Doomers would really celebrate if they crashed. Hey doomers, how are you all going to celebrate when that happens? No one will be able to get on here. You won't be able to tell the pollies "I told you so." I bet that will piss ya off.

-- (Laughing@you.com), October 15, 1999.

down 224 at 10:00 central time...... if it drops below 10K, I'm gonna stick my finger down my throat and throw up on my desk so my boss will let me go home sick.

please, god, no crash today.............

Pollies, don't go spazzing out now. We Doomers just watch the barometers. No fun in seeing the Titanic take on water.

Okay so the Dow dropped 270 today and even dipped below 10,000 to 9,996.....Freaky stuff. Glad I'm not in the market.

-- Don Kulha (dkulha@vom.com), October 15, 1999.

So, do doomers score 1 here?

-- FLAME AWAY (BLehman202@aol.com), October 16, 1999.

Yes we do and Monday will be far far far worse.

-- Andy (2000EOD@prodigy.net), October 16, 1999.
