Please help me out. Have a co-worker who recently GI'd and asked me about Jelly Refrigerators (needed for insulin/food storage). This was new to me (???). She asked me for a source. I am completely ignorant on this one. Can anyone give me info/sources for same? Any help is gratefully accepted!

I did a dogpile web search at http://www.dogpile.com/ and came up with this one...

It is a 45 hour cooling pack that uses Gel ... Maybe if you search some more, you may find something larger for long-term storage. I also found this article giving the storage requirements for insulin...

If your co-worker lives in a cold part of the country, I don't see why an ordinary cooler wouldn't work. Just buy some freeze packs or half fill bottles of water and lay them outside on their sides to chill or freeze overnight and use them in the cooler. Adding an extra layer of foam insulation in the cooler would make it work even better. Hope this helps.

Try a veternarian--every time we buy vaccines for our critters, they pack them in a bag with those gel cold paks (Polar Paks?) to keep them cold. I've also bought them from the pharmacy section of the grocery store, Wal-Mart, and K-Mart. We always keep a few in the freezer for headaches and tendonitis flare-ups.
