Yeah, it includes the cast of Gilligans Island. The three hour tour theme song will be changed to a 3 day bump in the road.

Gawd, I remember Ginger and Marianne, walking around in all that sand on the island. Then a tropical rain would come. And it would all turn to mud. And they would both come back to their hut, drenched. In the mud. Then there would be spat, something about who would the professor pick to help with his next project. And one thing would lead to another. Ginger would snicker about her Hollywood friends. Marianne would call her conceited. In the mud. And the battle that would consume them both. The hair pulling. The clothes ripping....

GWWAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!

Whew... Gawd.... Whoa... The sweet memories of days gone by.

Mrs. Howell (Lovey) fought in a few matches, too. Gilligan enjoyed some cross dressing episodes, do those count.

Here in Australia we have one coming up on Sat, 16 Oct. It's called Y2K, stars Malcolm McDowell (of IF... & Clockwork Orange but he's gone downhill from there) and Lou Gossett Jr. Set in a missile Silo in Columbia, date reverts to 1969 and system thinks USA under attack.

Has this one been on in the States yet?

If not I'll post a review!

Just sit right back and you'll hear a tale

Of the doom that is our fate.

That started when programmers used

Two digits for a date.

Two digits for a date.

*

Main memory was smaller then;

Hard disks were smaller, too.

"Four digits are extravagant,

So let's get by with two.

So let's get by with two."

*

Now when 2000 rolls around

It all goes straight to @#%&,

For zero's less than ninety-nine,

As anyone can tell.

As anyone can tell.

*

The mail won't bring your pension check

It won't be sent to you

When you're no longer sixty-eight,

But minus thirty-two.

But minus thirty-two.

*

The problems we're about to face

Are frightening, for sure.

And reading every line of code's

The only certain cure.

The only certain cure.

*

(key change, big finish)

There's not much time,

There's too much code.

(And Cobol-coders, few)

When the century is finished with,

We may be finished, too.

We may be finished, too.

*

Eight thousand years from now I hope

That things weren't left too late,

And people aren't then lamenting

Four digits for a date.

Four digits for a date.

Y2K-The movie is on Nov. 21....got some survey a few days ago asking me to compare two ads for the movie and see which one would more incline me to watch,...then a whole bunch of questions about would I make a point to watch, blah blah. But it is scheduled for that day. might be better than football.........

Does any one else think that it would be completely irresponsible of the network to run a y2k movie at such a late date?

The only result of running it in late November will be to cause a panic. No good will come of it IMHO

-- ActionBill (actionbil@aol.com), October 13, 1999.

I doubt it will cause a panic.

In fact, I'm certain it will have a *very* Happy Ending.

Where's your faith in Television, boy?

Nice piece o' work, @!!

The Puppet Masters that control popular opinion and the media will not allow a movie to be shown that threatens their position of control. The effects of this movie will be minimal and Y2K will be portrayed as something that can be conquered.

a - have seen song elsewhere...

...am definately of the opinion that _something_ is going to happen at the turn of the year

I second Jay... nice job a - had me laughin' pretty good!

Saw this Y2K movie advertised just last evening on NBC as one of four big weekly "drawing cards" for November viewing. It must be rating time, because all were of a sensational nature. This is really stupid timing, but someone wrote on a previous thread a few weeks ago that one programmer saves the East Coast...SuperGeek, I guess!!
