Metro Atlanta county cancels leaves and vacations and plans for a worst case scenario. Howard Giles, deputy chief of Gwinnett County Emergency Services, says confused computers may disrupt vital services and lead to potentially dangerous situations. This is reported in the Gwinnett Daily Post, second in circulation only to the Atlanta Constitution in metro Atlanta.

Because of it's role as the South's economic engine, Atlanta has lived up to its moniker - "The City Too Busy Too Hate". If the economy skids to a halt and the utilities sputter, the demographic cocktail we call Atlanta is going to "not be busy" anymore. This "watched pot" will boil over in a moments notice.

If you live in the metro area, preparation = leave prior to rollover. Y2K could make Sherman's March look like a church picnic.

This is not, I repeat, NOT a dress rehearsal.

Hey DG - I'm starting to see more things about Gwinnett and Atlanta. I'm on Gwinnett water but hall county otherwise. Hope I'm far enough away from Hotlanta - I'm afraid she's gonna go up in smoke. :-(
