Quartz Lighting For Shooting Interiors

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Bulletin Board for Medium and Large Format Photography : One Thread

I am seeking guidance on using quartz lighting such as NRG, Lowel or Smith-Victor for shooting interiors. I am a veteran of mono-light flash units, however, I sold all of my flash units several years ago.I like the idea of WYSIWYG of quartz lighting versus shooting lots of Polaroid proofs while fine tuning flash units. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Get a copy of Matters of Light & Depth, by Ross Lowell(of Lowel light company). It is the best lighting book on the market. It isn't formulas, but the feel and aesthetics of light. Very useful & it will help a lot with what you are looking for.

Lowel Tota-lites are pretty much an industry standard. They work well.
