Go to salvation army on dollar day and buy wool blankets and wool sweaters. Bring'em home and wash in Woolite. ummmm, nice and clean and fluffy.

Traipse over to Walgreens and shop the clearance racks. Anti- perspirants for $.10, herbals for 1/2 price, etc.

At Meiiers Supermarket look at their clearance racks too. You'd be surprised.....

Estate Sales--have gotten many preps there--garage sales not so prevelant up north this time of year---auctions---used goods stores---I know--other people's stuff---well, the goods wash! I got most of my camping gear in places like this--extra towels,blankets, pillows,fishing pole---on and on. I've saved a bloody bundle!

Dumpsters and the local dump. You will be amazed at what you can find there. Junk yards are a good place to browse, if your town has one. The recycling center has great stuff too. I have found many plastic storage bins thrown in the dumpster behind large dept. stores. But most the stores are using the closed dumpster system.

Goodwill and other thrifts. Get used Mason jars for 10 cents each. Get a tin trunk for $8 or $10, store bulk goods in them for a rodent proof barrier. Get used backpacks for $6 to $8 to use for bugout bags. Buy used blankets and quilts to wall off hallways and keep a warm room warm. Buy a used bicycle for $10, won't need gas for it.

Prowl the kerbs of well-off neighborhoods the evening before trash pick-up. Prowl apartment dumpsters and kerbs after students' December finals also check want ads at that time for student moving sales. Be on the lookout for store closings, check their dumpsters and back doors for cast-off shelving, etc.

Goodwill and thrift shops sell paperback for 20 to 25 cents a book. Lots of #1 National Bestsellers for reading in the "new year".
