Portable toilets (and other stuff) by mail--from Wal-Mart!greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) Preparation Forum : One Thread |
You can't buy everything you see in the store on line but there's still a lot of useful stuff:http://wmonline.wal-mart.com/cgi-bin/vstore/wm/wmonline.exe?U+GN+ITEM:76501914825+MCAT:306+G:0.0.0.000
The toilet is about $55, BTW.

Thanks Old Git. Just one more reason that you're my favorite.

And now you'll always think of me when. . .!

I was fortunate and found a chemical camping toilet at a yard sale for $10, included half a dozen bottles of chemical. Only problem, the instructions for adding chemical (proper amount) were not there. I'm assuming a full bottle per tank. Can anyone verify this? TIA

Don't know, the brand-new, still-in-the-sealed box portable toilet I got for $20 at a thrift shop is wrapped up in plastic on the top shelf of the carport utility room! We need some chemicals too--I think the instructions are on the bottle. Maybe call a camping shop or dept. and see if a salesperson can tell you. Or try to reach the manfacturer through 800 directory assistance, get a new set of instructions.I'm also prepared to line the tank with garbage bags if things go on for a while and the chemical supply gets low. I DID buy a good new shovel, BTW! Our city water and sewer dept. is notoriouisly inefficient and I haven't much faith that they'll get through without a hitch.

Only about one once of the blue stuff will do the job. Putting in a whole bottle is a total waste!

Old Git, Unfortunately, I have a mild case of Obsessive/compulsive disorder. That means that now I WILL think of you "when" for several months, at a minimum. ;-)
