This past weekend my husband and I bought the Reader's Digest Back to Basics book for $9, and paid $5 for a box of 173 clothing patterns in a variety of sizes for men, women, and children. But best of all, we mentioned Y2K to an acquaintence and she was ripe for information. There are probably many people like her who are concerned, but who don't have internet access and have no idea what they should be doing. We gave her as much advice as we could in a short conversation, and as soon as I log off I'm going to print out some stuff and send it to her. (It will certainly include the rehydration fluid recipe I got here.) Helping a new GI is a rare but gratifying experience. Maybe it will become more common in the following weeks.
