Pentax 67 and slides

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Pentax 67 SLR : One Thread

Hi!

I have a question according the Pentax 67 and slidefilm. Is there any slideprojectors for the 6x7 format? I wonder because I maybe will switch from Hassy to Pentax 67 (I am always cropping the square to rectangleformat). Maybe the best way is to make duplicates in a smaller format and use them for slideshows and use the 6x7 slides for enlargements. I would be greatful for any advice.

Regards

Patrik

Hi Patrik

Yes, there is at least one slide projector for 6x7cm - the Cabin Procabin 67-Z - but I don't know about availability outside of Japan. As you're in Europe, The Widescreen Centre in London may of more help - but I don't know their contact details offhand. Perhaps some kind soul might supply them.

Goetschmann in Munich produces 6x7 slide projectors. Basically, they have two models: A manual version (G67) and an automatic version (G8585). They have a web site (goetschmann.de) with some (German only) information on both models.

I use a Cabin 67. It is very basic - totally manual - but quite compact and works well. The lens is fine and the slide gate keeps cool. They are fairly rare on the used market but I have seen them in the UK. Mr Cad http://www.mrcad.co.uk/ have been advertising new ones of 799 UKP which is a pretty fair price when compared to the US B&H price. Tales of them costing 400 US dollars equivalent in Japan are occasionally told !
