Missouri Readiness

On the way home from work this morning heard a long piece on the radio news about Mo. readiness....fellow (didn't get his name)said top officials would be in an underground bunker monitoring electricity, water, satellite feeds for problems...where the bunker is he didn't elaborate on. Then on to the old "we don't expect problems but we feel it would be smart for people to stock up food and water now and avoid rushing at the end of the year." Hmmmmmmmm...does this mean all the glowing reports from our electric coop and bank aren't true? Some guys were out trimming power lines and my husband got into a Y2K conversation with them and they admitted that they all had generators !! Gave him the cheapest safest way to install and said they knew they weren't ready no matter what the office said. Thoughts to ponder.

That's funny, top officials in Ohio have a bunker too. It's 8 miles outside of Columbus. You think all those top officials know someing we don't?

St.Louis County Police have a bunker in west county off Olive Blvd. Check out:

Back in the late 70's my explorer scout post and several others spent a weekend in the county bunker for a emergency preparedness workshop. At that time the site was operational but not in use. I don't know if this is the same place or not, but the location sounds right.

Creepy place. Built as fallout shelter for county govt and their families in case of nuclear war. Fully stocked with food, barrels of water, etc.

MapQuest shows the address to be between Ladue Rd. and Faust County Park on Olive in Chesterfield.
