THE WHOLE WORLD AS 100 PEOPLE

If we could shrink the earth's population to a village of 100 people, with all the existing human ratios remaining the same, it would look like this:

There would be:

57 Asians 21 Europeans 14 from the Western Hemisphere (north and south) 8 Africans

52 would be female. 48 would be male.

70 would be non-white. 30 white.

70 would be non-Christian. 30 would be Christian.

59% of the entire world's wealth would be in the hands of only 6 people, ...and all 6 would be citizens of the United States.

80 would live in substandard housing.

70 would be unable to read.

50 would suffer from malnutrition. 1 would be near death. 1 would be near birth.

Only 1 would have a college education. Only 1 would own a computer.

Are you suddenly feeling fortunate?

Which one is the village idiot?

And 52 of them would be about to die in the next five years. (Heavy emphasis on the western world which relies more on mega doses of antibiotics for every cold, sanitation, and advanced medicine to prop up their culitivatedly fragile immune systems.) Another 24 would be slated to die over the next 25 years. Leaving 24. 24 that will drop to 16 within 50-100 years without the aid of catastrophy simply because most of them will not breed.

Final resolution:

8 Asians 2 Europeans 2 from the Western Hemisphere 4 Africans

9 would be female. 7 would be male.

12 would be non-white. 4 white.

16 would be non-Christian

No one will be wealthy, "United States? What's that?"

16 will live in substandard housing (by our standard)

0 would be unable to read.

0 will suffer from malnutrition. 1 will be near death. 0 would be near birth.

12 will have a college education (or equivalent). "Own? What is own?"

This is my massively unpopular prediction for the year 2050 AD. Nice, huh? If any of you could live in your present state to see your grandchildren (or greatgrandchildren) you would find them unrecognizable. (Not in a physical sence but a mental-moral-emotional sence.) Imagine the absence of right/wrong, male/female, gay/straight, poor/rich, black/white, old/young or any number of dichotomies we base our language (and by extension) mental processes on. Actually it will be nothing like what you just imagined and got pissed off about, so there!

The Freak

Hmmm, seems a tad odd to me.

Surely at least 3 of those 6 wealthiest people would own a computer.

In any event we now know the greatest bulk of the population is Asian, female, probably Buddhist, illiterate, malnourished and living in a slum or worse. Betcha she's never heard of Y2k. Now I know where to send my prayers.

Good post Semper

Kinda hard to call this situation "blessed," IMO. Unless God really is on our side. In which case the rest of the world out there ain't got the least whisper of a chance and they oughta have sense enough to quit trying to make a life.

So many good posts are runined by god crap. Give up the middle eastern monotheistic dribble or we'll never make it.

"59% of the entire world's wealth would be in the hands of only 6 people, ...and all 6 would be citizens of the United States. "

But... Who GENERATES this wealth?

Mostly the same people.
