Sep30, is everyone compliant yet or does the official date get pushed out again?

Isn't today the official day for everyone to be compliant? I'm aware that it was initially Dec of 1998 "with a full year for testing," but has been pushed back several times. If today is the day, is it going to get pushed back yet again? With the media pick up on it?

Yeah, it's strange that the Senate couldn't hold off until Oct 15. or something for the 'final' report.

Today is the next to last of the major VaporDates, i.e., future dates by which time compliancy is promised to have been achieved. But on the arival of the VaporDate, there is ususally no compliancy announcement. Instead, there is a self-congratulatory announcement that everything is still on schedule to be compliant by the next VD. Prior predictions are redefined to make current interpretations of such predictions 100% consistent with the status existing at the time of the VaporDate.

Good question Jay. No one seems to be even keeping track anymore. After all, Hoff and Flint says Y2K is over right?

Y2K newswire has a good story on the five announced completion dates.

Has anyone read 1984?? by George Orwell... In the book, the main character's job is to sort through old newspaper articles and rewrite them to fit what is going on in the present day... Sounds sort of like these companies saying that they'll be done on such and such a date, and then when that date passes, saying how they are on track to meet the next one, and always were! Oh well, we'll ALL see soon enough. JAKE
