Yes I just paid for it and it has solved at least one of my problems, lots more options and a new look interface with some of those problems fixed as well.

Now to see if it has fixed the other problems - wish they would Premiere 5 timeline it!

All the best!

I have now used the encoder for a 28 minute vcd (selling), the fixed bugs in version 3 have removed all of my problems and using the same avi source version 3 was 12% faster than the 2.51 version.

This job has also been produced for VHS tape so a direct comparison is possible of exactly the same source material and the tape version wins. This is no doubt due to the resizing I must do in premiere and the fact that my pixel ratio was incorrect resulting in over expanding in the DVD player.

I have now carried out a correct pixel ratio test capture and resize for future jobs and found capturing at full frame size or at half width full depth made no difference to the image but the correct pixel ratios gave an overall improved image.

I found the LSX option to add black was useful in removing the vibrating line at the top of the frame for playback on the computer and it was interesting to compare an mpeg-2 file generated from the same source avi as this is talked about as the basis of "mini-DVD".

The plugin for media player provided with the update works very well and I had no trouble playing the mpeg-2 file full screen at full frame rate on my works P2 350 but my P 233 at home is naturally not really up to it.

All in all success at last.

I look forward to the next LSX update to get around the 2G limit and a plugin for NLE editing programs.

Thanks to all who helped by discussing the problems here and off line.

I really like all the advance features that the LSX-encoder v.3 has, specially for Video-CD, I still have not yet figure out the best advance settings for best picture quality for encoding video-CD. Any suggestions?
