Mr. Boss -GI

Well, Dh had his meeting with the Belgian boss. Two grueling days and an "evolution" meeting. Finally the moment arrives to address y2k and what the implications for the American division would be should the French and Belgian divisions not be able manufacture or ship next year. Dh calmly presented all the concerns and data ( much of which I gleaned from the responses to my I-Need-Questions-Thread).

Bottom line - he listened and then asked questions. Finally he wanted to know what Dh would propose for contingency. This is all we could have hoped for. Amazing. I just wanted to thank everyone who responded - especially Old Git. And now I am relieved and distrubed at the same time because Mr. Boss's response to the information about Russia's weak link in the supplying oil to Europe was the key. I don't think he had given this much consideration. This is what is so frustrating about the whole issue of y2k - the things you haven't considered - big and small. It makes me wonder - what have I forgotten to take into consideration?

April -

You have done your best .... If anyone knew the exact ramifications of Y2K in advance, they could become very very rich indeed .... Imagine the potential for making millions on the markets ?

Well done for carrying through against the odds. You receive the AAPHM award - (April against Pointy Headed Managers) !!!

Congrats, April! It takes a lot of energy, time, and effort to try to educate somebody about Y2K. And then, even if they GI, they go back to their hypnotic 'normal' world, see & hear nothing, maybe just a little spin, maybe ask a couple acquaintances who DGI and say, "Nuttin to it, all fixed." Then zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. So don't stop! Send regular updates. Lots of amazing threads now showing real life computer failures and Spin Shifting.
