I'm not sure if this is what you're looking for but... I've purchased quite a few cans of roast beef chunks in gravy from K-mart. I can't remember the exact price per can, but believe it was less than $2. There were two brands available with the more generic looking lot to be something like 10 cents cheaper. I purchased a couple to see how they were and it made a great meal with the addition of a little powdered beef gravy and lotsa pasta. As for buying it by the case, I don't worry about looks from other customers. I won't clear out the inventory, but if there's a large quantity on the shelf at the store, I won't hesitate to load up the roast beef section of my pantry. Hope this is helpful.

Any major grocery store should have it on the shelf. I live in No. CA and the stuff is plentiful. What I thought was real interesting, was on the label it read beef from Brazil. Lately I've been finding Hormel turkey in a can as well. I would like to know if anyone has tried making tacos from the package mix you find in the store. Thanks

I have purchased my canned beef at www.cartoonstrip.com. The email address is bruce@cartoonstrip.com. They were 12 8oz cans for $45 - $49. It is excellent quality, no fillers or gravy, just beef.

Make that 14 oz cans for the above prices. Brain hiccup. They also have 27oz cans you can purchase by the case, not sure of that price though.

Bruce has told me in the past that he can make special pickup arrangements with the factory for hamburger as well, when requested, this is at the same price as the beef.

Usual disclaimers, I don't have any personal or financial connection.

Canned corned beef is a Hawaiian staple...at least for some groups. SPAM is another. I've used the corned beef for a number of dishes, including chili (yummy), enchilladas(so-so), and corned beef hash (yummy). Reportedly it works OK for spaghetti, too. We try to pick both up on sale (at least once per month).

SPAM is good to outstanding for SPAM 'n rice, sweet 'n sour spam, split pea or bean soup, fried rice, SPAM musubi, and in omelets.

Been buying canned Turkey and Chicken chunks at Costco, also corned beef and spam there as well. My major stash of meat protein is in the form of Staggs Chicken chili which Safeway has on sale thru 10/10 for 12 cans for $6...$0.50 per can (my son loves the stuff and I think it's pretty good as well). Hit Safeway 3X yesterday and added 36 cans to my already huge stash (plus another 36 cans of S&W fruits at the same price). Safeway also has canned veggies at 25 cents per can....must be that time of the season.....DCK
