Combining banks and nations yeah, knew that was coming, but religions... now that's gonna be a hard sell. Ain't no way in Hell (no pun intended) they'll ever get religions to combine. Too many people are willing to die for that kinda stuff. Sure you weren't just imagining you heard this tonite there Mike? Put a link up when you see it in print, it is definitely interesting if it's for real.

-- @ (@@@.@), September 29, 1999.

It's very real unfortunately. Heard it on kogo a San Diego Radio station @ 11:30PDT. IMF has been meeting in DC all week tring to bust Russia's balls about the money laundring scandal. Not a good way for allies to co-exist. As soon as the IMF and world bank annocement is in print I will Link it. The Generals are now faced with a very serious situation. This is a major challenge to our soverignity.

No wonder they are humping so hard to get all the guns.

@: The one-world religion IS coming. It is predicted in the Bible. Check out the Book of Revelation.

@@@@@, can i call you @ for short? you will love this. i will send you on a little web journey that will show you JUST HOW CLOSE WE ARE TO A WORLD RELIGION. it will be fun and enlightening. i am not saying these are all the pieces but it is only a matter of time before the right pieces do "click" together. forgive me if the url's don't work.

1. Gary Kah has written a book on this topic http://www.armageddonbooks.com/30kah.html and has done a pretty good job providing documentation in his book on how we are moving in the "right" direction for a world government and religion.

2. he talks about an organization that orginated in the early 1990s at a conference on World Religion (my ex-husband, a lutheran pastor went to it!!!) that is now headed up by Robert Moeller (can't spell his name) and IS UNDER THE AUSPICES OF THE UN (although they are downplaying it for now). http://www.united-religions.org/ this organization is scheduled to "go public" on june 26, 2000. p.s. they have already publicly stated that christians are a roadblock to their plans. strangely enough, they are headquartered right out there near presidio with the rest of the folks that are seeking to dismantle the US (gorbachev).

3. there is also this interesting character called matreiya that has gotten the attention of the UN (i think he has actually spoken there) and claims to be "Him". I am not sure how he fits but he seems to say all the right things to fit in somewhere (one of his first priorities is to redistribute the wealth of the world--sounds like a good member of the UN). To me he is just one of many false christs to come. http://www.heshere.org/

what an exciting time in which to live, huh?

FYI, the UN is planning to announce their long planned "United Religion" in June of 2000. It's been in the oven for a number of years. I read about a conference that took place in Australia last year. For the sake of the masses they concluded we need to blend more. We need to put an end to extremes and certainly we need to make mankind into its own god. BTW, most theologies, regardless how inane, will be accepted so long as it doesn't espouse Jesus as Lord. This won't be allowed because it makes people too uncomfortable and promotes too much passion of opinion which, as we all know, encourages discord. Christianity will soon be not just a dirty word- but it will represent all that is counter to peace and love and "unity" and only the remnant faithful will be willing to endure to the end. And when this happens, I'll know the end is near.

What amazes me is that it's right there, in front of our eyes, and so many don't see it. I'm sure Satan could openly declare he's running for President and people would say "Gee, Satan huh, well, what's his platform? World peace? Hmm, sounds good, I'll vote for him". (We'll leave parties out of this one) He'd drive around the United States, shaking hands, smiling, kissing babies...Gee, he's not such a bad guy is he? How could it be that people, anyone, who has read or heard anything about Revelations could not be alarmed at news such as this?

-- kritter (kritter@adelphia.net), September 29, 1999.

Maybe Satan has already run for President and won, say in 1992?

-- cody (cody@y2ksurvive.com), September 29, 1999.

The UN is just a right-wing conspiracy. It doesn't really exist.

Mmmmmmmmmmmm doooooooooonuts....

tt There is a huge billboard on HWU 75 North out of Atlanta that says "Who is Maitreya?" Gives his web address. I had only just learned about this dude days before I saw this. It was something akin to an electric shock to see it. Putting everything into perspective - y2k fits nicely into the scheme of things. Out with the old - in with the new, eh?

For the past months I have been very troubled by a sense of impending doom. It doesn't seem personal. Somehow I have faith that God will fill in the gaps on my y2k preps. . . I believe that y2k is just the opening bell on the Big One.

I have a big case of conflicting emotions.

On one hand, I'm grateful to y2k because it seems to have opened my eyes to the fragility of our systems. There was this huge old oak tree outside this place I used to work in South Georgia. A storm came and blew it over revealing the rotten, hollow core. In reality, the trunk which seemed of huge girth was really only inches deep from the surface. The rest was gone, filled with rotten fragments and huge dark wood ants.

On the other hand I'm grieving for our world. It's not just y2k. I think the general perception consequence will be an economic depression which will obvious by the summer of 2000. On a personal note, I'm out of the market except for about $1,500 but I heard my oldest brother's portfolio is down $75,000 in the last couple of days. My perception is he has little or no "operational" faith in God. His security founded on money. I have no idea what his net "paper" worth is now but I'm concerned about what he'll do if ... He's in his 50's. Unemployed. Recently moved to Tallahassee. I tried to warn him last summer. My intuition is ALL of Florida is unsafe. Y2k is "no big deal." When I heard he was moving, I tried to tell him to try out the western part of central GA, maybe around the Warm Springs area - rural, away from major military bases like Warner Robbins AFB, Moody AFB and USMCLBA (Marine Corps Logistics Base, Atlantic). He couldn't hear me. I'm the "nut case."

Grieving? Yes. I know things are screwed up. WACO, TWA 800 and on and on and on. But I still love this country. I don't know. Maybe I'm in love with what I think it used to be, or what I thought it could be again. There is still so much beauty here. We have been so incredibly blessed by God.

Cruising the net, I've seen the comments, some people, full of very understandable anger and resentment, are actually hoping for the worst y2k scenario possible thinking that somehow it will destroy the entrenched socialistic bureaucracy. As individuals, we've collectively abdicated power to the "Great White Father in Washington." And why not? We LIKE big government. We like our "safety nets." "Save the Family Farm," "Save the Whales," "Save the Bay."

Our isolation from the rest of the world used to be nice wide oceans. Today, isolation is a myth and our insulation is military power, economic and cultural imperialism. But at the rotten core, the state is propped up by foreign capital and lies. The military is technology-dependent and understrength. The culture is corrosive and death.

I still remember George W.s father talking about the New World Order. Its o.k. if youre at the top of the heap. The UN was a nice idea as a US puppet organization but I dont believe for a moment that globalism would allow the true believers to reinstate real, historic freedom to U.S. citizens in the event of a political infrastructure breakdown. Power abhors a vacuum and theres a lot of power out there - and it hates freedom. As much as Paul Milne detests the fed.org, it has never put a cruise missile on his farm or propped up an invading army of blues in his stat

Here's an article on the IMF that gets close.. but doesn't quite say what you heard. Are you SURE you heard the word "religious"? The article below refers to "government ministers"... different critters entirely.:

IMF, World Bank In New Drive To Ease Poverty - Tuesday September 28 7:01 PM ET - By Janet Guttsman

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The International Monetary Fund, shifting from policies which infuriated charities and enraged the developing world, promised a new drive to eliminate poverty Tuesday, saying the world had to listen to ``the voices of the poor.''

IMF Director Michel Camdessus repeated his usual warnings about stability and economic risks in a speech to commercial bankers, government ministers and central bankers attending the annual meetings of the World Bank and IMF.

But he also urged countries to curb international arms trading and slash military spending. ``Just think how many plowshares could be forged with such an oversupply of swords,'' Camdessus said.

The comments, backed by a similar message from World Bank President James Wolfensohn, signaled a clear shift in emphasis at the IMF, which has traditionally stressed macroeconomic issues and left poverty reduction to the bank.

``It means they have seen that their blood is in the water,'' said Seth Amgott from British charity Oxfam. ``But just talking about poverty won't satisfy their critics in the developing world, charities or the U.S. Congress.''

The IMF and the World Bank, separated by the 19th Street in downtown Washington, have often had an uneasy relationship because IMF demands for spending cuts and high interest rates to bring inflation down may leave countries short of cash to improve education or health care.

But they promised at the current round of meetings to work together in lending programs to the poor.

The IMF will rename its program of cheap loans for poor countries the Poverty Reduction and Growth Facility. Previously, in a clear example of IMF gobbledygook, it was called the Enhanced Structural Adjustment Facility.

Camdessus also said global economic prospects had improved, even for the countries swept deep into the world financial crisis of 1997-99, a wave of problems which started in Thailand in July 1997 and spread relentlessly around the world.

RUSSIA ECONOMY IMPROVING

The economy of Russia -- long a problem for the IMF despite the injection of some $22 billion in loans -- was improving and the IMF had no plans to halt its activities there, said Camdessus, who met a top-level Russian delegation Tuesday.

``It would be the height of irresponsibility to turn our back on this great nation. We will not do that,'' he said.

Russian officials said Monday they aimed to meet new tougher terms set by the international community for a $4.5 billion lending program from the IMF.

The new controls, to include regular audits of the central bank, reflect deep international concern about a money laundering scandal in which billions of dollars of Russian cash were allegedly channeled through U.S. banks.

The IMF meetings are taking place amid a sense of relief that the financial crisis did not live up to last year's doom-mongering expectations. The IMF has revised world growth forecasts up sharply and Japan has emerged from recession.

``For a time we faced the threat of the most extensive and harshest crisis since our institutions were established,'' Camdessus said. ``Its human cost has been immense and we may need a few more years to heal the wounds.''

Wolfensohn, in his address to the government ministers, proposed a new international development structure to work in parallel with the strengthened financial system policymakers are trying to build.

``It would be a coalition built on the cooperation of all the players, the United Nations, governments, multilaterals and civil society,'' Wolfensohn said. ``We must break the chain of debt. We must go further and break the chain of poverty.''

Efforts by ministers to ease poverty centered on the expansion of the Heavily Indebted Poor Countries' (HIPC) debt relief initiative, which rewards poor countries with strong reformist policies with generous terms for debt relief.

The World Bank said it had won promises of bilateral aid to fund its share of the program, while the IMF will revalue some 14 million ounces of gold and use the proceeds to ease the debt burden for up to 30 of the world's poorest countries.

European central banks announced separately during the meeting that they would put a cap on new sales of gold in an effort to remove the uncertainty which has been hanging over the gold market for years.

Gold prices soared to their highest levels in 16 months.

I read a statement from someone, somewhere in time, he said, "If I heard tell of a goverment man coming to my front door to "straighten me out and do me good, I would flee in bloody terror ouy the back door." Or words to that affect.

Looks like Mr. Armey agrees with the the relgion thing...

********************************************************************************

The nation is descending into religious bigotry, especially against Christians, Rep. Dick Armey, Texas Republican, will say today in a speech before the House of Representatives. "Whether we wish to admit it or not, Christians are now subject to ridicule, mistreatment and bigotry -- pure and simple," the House Majority leader will say, according to a draft of his speech. Mr. Armey outlines 13 cases of intolerance for Christians by the media, local communities and the American Civil Liberties Union. "In case after case, people of faith are told to mind their own business keep to themselves, and stay out of the affairs of the rest of society," the speech says. For example, Mr. Armey will cite a Denver Post editorial criticizing the services held in the wake of the Littleton, Colo., shootings. According to the editorial, Christian songs and the keynote speech by the Rev. Franklin Graham, son of Billy Graham, "drove away a sizable number of people who came to mourn the deaths." "In other words, the editors of the Denver Post objected to the families and victims turning to their faith in this terrible time of grief," Mr. Armey will say. Also, Mr. Armey will say that two weeks after the shooting at a Christian Sunday school in Fort Worth, Texas, the Department of Justice still has not characterized the event as a hate crime. By contrast, "last year the Justice Department offered its resources to help prosecutors prove racial bias . . . in the dragging death of James Byrd within days of the tragic killing," Mr. Armey will say.

Combine religions??

Tell ya what...send "Coffee" Anon to Timor to talk the militias into giving up Allah...see the OT discussions about the pictures from E. Timor.

Actually, I think it is a real sign that the *banking* model has about run its course. With the Jubilee 2000 movement picking up strength, the IMF is soon to be toast. Just one thing...is there a 7-11 within 5 miles of IMF headquarters??

-- K. Stevens (kstevens@ It's ALL going away in January.com), September 29, 1999.

Actually, I don't see the new United Religion as a combination as much as it will be offered as a "refreshing" alternative "touchy-feely" philosophy for those who prefer to worship a more reasonable, handcrafted god. You know, one everyone can relate to. Everything else labeled "fringe element" - including Islam - will be too restricting and therefore subject to ridicule and distain - eventually elimination. Those will just have to go - won't fit into the "Mother Earth" is sacred theology.

-- April (Alwzapril@home.com), September 29, 1999.

This Maitreya CRAP has been going on for many years now.......we discussed it in a recent thread........Share International, (an offshoot of the Tara Centre in London, England) have been promoting this character for decades now. I received many of there monthly newsletters (begging for donations of course) all claiming that Maitreya apparently miraculously appeared in this church or that temple around the world and spoke to hundreds claiming to be the Messiah, Christ, Iman Mahdi, Bhudda, et al...........

Of course, of all of his hundreds of supposed miraculous appearances, NONE have ever been confirmed. They always have a reason why his appearance is delayed............total crap.

Maitreya, like the thousands of previous characters that claimed to be Christ, is a dud.

-- Craig (craig@ccinet.ab.ca), September 29, 1999.

No wonder the United Nations likes this Maitreya character. He will serve well in advancing their agenda.

"At this time of great political, economic and social crisis Maitreya will inspire humanity to see itself as one family, and create a civilization based on sharing, economic and social justice, and global cooperation.

He will launch a call to action to save the millions of people who starve to death every year in a world of plenty. Among Maitreya's recommendations will be a shift in social priorities so that adequate food, housing, clothing, education, and medical care become universal rights.

Under Maitreya's inspiration, humanity itself will make the required changes and create a saner and more just world for all."

http://www.shareintl.org/maitreya/Ma_main.htm

I'm all for feeding the hungry and making sure every one is housed and clothed, but not at the expense of individual sovereignty and god given rights.

If this guy goes along with the NWO propaganda, then he is nothing more than a stooge for world government.

If you take big corporate interests out of the equation, and topple over corrupt governments, THEN, we might be able to move on down the road to a REAL solution, but not a moment before.
