Great Blue Heron

Great blue heron, Destin Harbor, Florida, N70, Sigma 400, Kodachrome 64. Destin is "paradise lost" but the great blues are pretty tame and make good subjects.

I like this. Good creativity and nice effect. The composition is good to with some space to the right where the heron is looking. Pitty though that the bottom left corner get a little to dark, the silouette disappers. Hakan

Really cool & Original, don't object to the somewhat darker lower left, the sowewhat busier background on the right balances well against the silhouette imo.

Great effect! What are those bright spots excactly? Reflections?

Wonderful shot! I love the stark silhouette of the bird against the abstract background and the way you've composed it, with the bird at the edge of the frame, looking in. Very artistic. I often ride my bike to work and this past week have seen two pairs of great blue herons on the edges of a lake that I ride by on my way. Your shot inspires me to want to try and photograph them!
