Public information Royce Wilson NORTH PLATTE, Neb., Sep. 27-Students on the various campuses of the Mid-Plains college system have been in class for several weeks already and normally the enrollment figures are easily obtained. But it could be a couple of weeks before any accurate count is made due to a computer software problem.

Chuck Salestrom, Mid-Plains Public Relations Office, says, We have multi-facets of that program that are working very, very well, but one of the areas that isnt right now is the enrollment figures, and so to comply with the state and federal reporting numbers were going to physically hand count the registrations and apply them to find out first of all whether or not our CMS software is accurate. We know that it isnt. And (by doing this, it will) give us an idea of knowing what the final number should be. Even though the college is having a problem with the enrollment figures, they say overall this system has been a good one for them to use. Salestrom continues, Were 95% thrilled with the way the system is working. We just have these little minor difficulties to get worked out. So even though the investment in this high tech software has been good for the college they will rely on an old fashioned head count to be able to tell the story about enrollment.
