analogue/digital raptor/rex

I'm thinking of buying a camera and editing system. I've been impressed by what i've heard about the Raptor and Rex but the latter is expensive. I won't really want to use analogue footage but might want to copy to vhs. is this possible using a camera or something or is an expensive editing system required? thanks

USEING THE DVRAPTOR: AFTER YOU CAPTURE DV TO YOUR EDITING SOFTWARE AND EDIT IT YOU CAN EXPORT IT BACK TO DV TAPE ON YOUR CAMERA AND FROM YOUR CAMERA TO A VCR OR YOU CAN BUY A SONEY MEDIA CONVERTER DVMC-DA1 FOR $399.00. WITH THIS CONVERTER YOU CAN CONVERT ANALOG AV SIGNALS TO DV DIGITAL SIGNALS, THIS WAY YOU CAN CAPTURE OLD 8MM STUFF ALSO.
