Times for Tri-X in Ilfotec developer

greenspun.com : LUSENET : B&W Photo - Film & Processing : One Thread

Can anyone suggest times for developing Kodak Tri-X pan (35mm) in "Ilford Plus Developer Ilfotec LC-29"? I believe this developer is also called "Ilfotec HC-D" (correct me if I'm wrong).

I've searched Usenet and the WWW, I've checked the ilford data sheets, and I've tried the "Massive dev chart", no help.

I'll answer my own question, since nobody else did. Extensive search of printed and on-line information gave no answer. Ilford Australia's email address bounces. I looked at times in different developers for Tri-X, and came up with 9 minutes at 1+29 dilution. Since my tap water comes out at 24C at the moment, I fudged this to 6.5minutes, using Ilford's temperature correction chart. I'm happy with the result---I got good looking negs.

About the same as HC110.

Can anyone elaborate on the differences between "Ilfotec HC" and "Ilfotec HC-D/Ilfotec LC-29", and their similarity with HC-110. It would seem that Ilfotec-HC and HC110 are quite similar, and are diluted similarly. LC-29 seems to be shipped in a more dilute form, but it's exact relation to these other two products is unclear to me.

Ilfotec HC is 8/5 stronger than LC: 1+19 LC gives the same results as HC 1+31, which is about equal to HC110/B. So with LC1+19 you can follow the prescriptions by Kodak for Tri-X in HC110/B.
