I'M TRYING TO FIND INFORMATION ON TURNING A "V.W. RABBIT" INTO A DIESEL GENERATOR. DO YOU HAPPEN TO HAVE ANY INFO ON THAT?

What you would be doing would be using the VW rabbit engine to run your generator, either direct drive, gear driven or by belt drive, I imagine. The way you do it would depend on lots of things: size and type of generator, whether the engine is out of the car or you want the car to still be usable as a self-propelled vehicle, what the power would be used for (to run things directly, charge batteries, etc.). Not a simple answer- need lots more info on what you expect to do.

wouldn`t it be easier to use the engine to charge a bank of batteries and use an inverter for household elect.
