Art Bell laughs at Gary North

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

A friend of mine told me that Art Bell was overheard cutting down Gary North. He said the only reason he had North on his program was to attract listeners but didn't believe a thing he said. Anyone else heard anything about this?

I have a very close relative who lives in Pahrump where Art resides. Pahrump is a community full of GIs. I seriously doubt that this is true. I have it on very good authority that Art get's it. <

Yes, compared to Art's other guests, North is a real weirdo (not!)

Art is an astute individual who knows his audience. He often "plays to the House". I suspect that a lot of people would be very surprised if they knew his true thoughts and beliefs about his guests and the subjects they present. But does that really matter? All pretentions about objectivity and "journalistic standards" aside, isn't that what we pay entertainers for? Art is good at what he's good at (to coin a phrase) and he's found a niche. Hey, you make a buck where you can...

I saw Art on CNN Larry King. King ask Art Bell what Y2K stood for. Bell said "that's a good question" I wouldn't call him a GI.

He's 3/4 of the way to being off the power grid, and he claims that he has stored food. I use to listen to him every night, but quit listening because of his nutty guests, too many commercials, and too many repeat programs. I think he has lost his niche.

I have the feeling the both Art Bell and Drudge post often here--anybody else?

I also saw Art Bell on CNN Larry King Show. King asked Bell what the "Y" in Y2K meant. Bell didn't know. He's a definate flake.

Art Bell is smarter than you people think. He just said the other night, that he NEVER doubts his guests (publicly) because every time he does, he gets a sh*tload of phonecalls from people have proof, etc etc.

Anyway, hes not going to insult someone like Gary North who has a ton of loyal followers. That is media suicide..making fun of you target market.

I doubt he said any such thing. Find out what night this was said and locate it in his REAL AUDIO archives...then ill beleive it.

I did hear him say he did not know what y2k meant, but Larry King also did not know. This gave me the feeling the whole interview was a set up from the start. Art Bell has reached the time of his career he feels he can say what he wants and still be number one. I listen to his show only when a guest has some creditabliliy to his name.

Some months ago a saw a picture of Art Bell's residence in NV at his web site.

Solar panels on the roof.

In his 8/19 interview with GN, he mentioned that he also has installed wind generators.

Art Bell IS a GI

Yeah, Art Bell is still number one. But number one WHAT?

Here's MY statement to both Art AND Gary: Ha ha.

I heard that Art Bell made fun of Gary's mother. Then I heard that Gary threw a dirt clod at Art and Art went and got his BB gun and shot Gary right in the eye. But Gary was wearing glasses so it didn't knock his eyeball out, but it broke his glasses. Gary cried and ran home to his mother. Art laughed and yelled at Gary "your momma wears army boots, na na na na na"!
