YARDENI'S 100 DAY CONFERENCE: INTERVIEW WITH DR. LEON KAPPELMAN

Dr. Leon Kappelman - Director, Center for Productivity, N. Texas State University

Dr. Kappelman finds it odd that individuals and families who are preparing for Y2K are regarded as doing the wrong thing, though business and governments are making preparations and stockpiling. His research into boosting production by 20% across the various industries indicates that pharmaceutical companies and others may be able to meet the needs of personal preparations. "We're not getting a balanced message." Kappelman is very concerned about possible psychological effects on people that will last many years after the shock and stress of unexpected Y2K problems-- due to the unrealistic expectations that have been created by government and industry. Yardeni seemed very uncomfortable with several of Kappelman's points.

Sincerely,
Stan Faryna

Stan, Thanks for doing this. AOL crashed last night when I tried to listen to these. (I think my software is messed up.)

Interesting. The link from Yardeni's site to the "T-100 Action Day" says that it isn't yet ready. Last update was August 27.

My bad. My link to his "Cybereconomics" page was old. If you go in via the Home Page, everything's up to date.
