I decided to post this question after reading the thread below about the Seagate order-tracking software being non-functional.

Two weeks ago I ordered the new Norton Systemworks upgrade. It was to arrive in 6 days. When I called Symantec support today, they said that it was "backordered" in the sales dept., but that they (support) would ship a CD to me today.

They said if I got a second disk later, to donate it to a non-profit charity.

None of this made any sense to me. How can a CD be on "backorder" when you can burn about a million in an afternoon and when another branch of your company can ship immediately?

Is this another back-office software problem?

I am backordered weeks on ACT 2000. This is also a Symantec product. What gives here?
