question on Compsys2000 newsgroup

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

Ever since I changed servers I have been unable to reach cs2000 news group. I know I am not saying the name right, but it is the famous geek home of most GI's in tech field.

If my server does not have it listed, what can I do? I use Netscape to access my newsgroups. Anyone know what I need to do to reach them?

It's comp.software.year-2000.

You can access it via Deja. I find it very awkward doing it that way, though.

Lora

By far the best way to search the News Groups is from Infoseek

Infoseek Advanced Search: Usenet Power Search

And here is a link that I set up that brings up the most recent of the posts. A hundred show up at a time and there isn't all the clutter that is on Deja News. The only drawback is you can't post on the newsgroup.

Deja.com - GO Network Search Results  Power Search Results: "~g comp.software.year-2000"

PS For the most part I like it here much better. :o)

Thanks very much to you both, these links work great. I do not post on that newsgroup, so this is going to work just fine. I like it better here myself, but like to check it now and then.

Thanks again.

Thanks for the Infoseek link, Brian.

You can post to the groups by sending your post to: mail2news-19990919-comp.software.year-2000@anon.lcs.mit.edu You must change the date manually.
