Let's start one thread on the Greenspan et al. comments...

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

Sorry for starting a new thread, but there are so many starting at once I thought maybe wwe might consolidate somewhere.

I am staggered by Greenspan's comments. Now the Feds are accusing companies for hoarding. A personal discussion with an economist at Prudential Securities said that hoarding "stockpiling" was what would make this y2k thingie be just a "big collassal nuisance" (i.e., BITR). (Despite the fact that this guy was writing a y2k projection, he couldn't hit a couple of fastballs like, "Where you gonna put all these stockpiles?" or "How does Germany stockpile enough "energy" to handle the missing 40% that they get from Russia?")

Soon the CEO's from these companies will start posting on this board about how they are being accused of wearing tinfoil hats.

Post any comments about Greenspan's speech on the following thread:

"Greenspan Discusses Y2k Impact"

It contains the actual text of Greenspan's speech and not just the press's summary of it.
