Help! My Doc, (family G.P.) just cashed his chips w/ cancer, and I can't seem to find a sawbones who will get me the scripts I need to round out my medical chest! Any suggestions? I need just the basics. Amoxacillian, Ampilcillian, the usual antibiotics ect. Any clue on how to B.S. my medical insurer for this?

Check the Prep Forum archives for this. You can still legally walk into any pharmacy in Mexico and just ask for any Rx such as antibiotics, blood pressure etc. You can legally cross the border with up to 3 types of each Rx per adult. Caution: Do not attempt this with a narcotic drug; however, if you bring over your empty prescription bottle for e.g. Darvoset, you can have them fill it, and you should not have a problem crossing back over the border with it. Most of the border town pharmacies have English speaking pharmacists. It helps to have a written list they can look at. Best Wishes!

There are many overseas sources that will provide drugs by mail order. I don't think your insurance company will pay, but drugs ordered from outside the US are usually cost much less. I ometimes ordered them a few years ago, but since I haven't done so recently, I cannot comment on which sources are most reliable.

See old threads here and on Prep Forum for fuller info. Also see http://www.drsfostersmith.com for veterinary antibiotics at very much reduced prices over what you would pay for them via your pharmacy/health plan/doctor's scrip.
