Here in Northern Virginia it's raining pretty hard and due to get strong winds later. Sounds like the major storm is east of us.I let the dogs out the garage door this morning. A toad lives in the bushes right by the door. I see it at night in the same place most of the time. This morning, a beautifully marked box turtle was there. I haven't seen one for quite a long time. I think it was probably getting to high ground to avoid flooding.
I wonder what will happen to wildlife if it really gets bad. I worry about inexperienced hungry hunters. We have an overpopulation of deer in the area.

I woke up this morning and took a shower and brushed my teeth with a blue toothbrush with---I think it was crest-- got dressed and went down to the kitchen.Looking in the fridge, I pulled out four eggs--cracked them one at a time separating out those nasty yolks and as I was doing this I pondered as to how the little eggs might have looked had they not been stolen from their mother for my consumption.
Then I thought about y2k and not having any eggs and proceeded to enjoy them. ummmmmmmm!!
(sally, forgive me!!) pleaaaase

I'm with you, Sally, I have an over-population of deer in my yard.I've often wondered if I'll be BBQing the rats after the rollover.

Sally,If it runs similar to floods in the west, be prepared for a heavy duty flea infestation. For those with house pets, a stock of 'Frontline' or other flea control items is a good precaution.

lisa,
I think last year Viet Nam was having a terrible plague of rats eating rice crops. The solution? A government sponsored push for rat cuisine. { Maybe I can find an old link, if I'm lucky }

flora, I meant "rats w/antlers" - my deer.I remember that rat cuisine thing too, Leska reported on it?
-- lisa (lisa@work.now), September 16, 1999.
Shoot lisa, those kinda rats have springs on their legs!
