Diversion by the Gov't?

I realize that the Gov't has the responsibility to protect its citizens abroad. But IMO the Gov't is generating all this media attention to it's report on the world in order to get the attention off of itself. It goes back to the US telling the world how to clean up it's front yard. Yet the US's back yard looks like a cesspool.

How do you think the media will handle the end game reporting, what do you think they'll be saying at the end of november...the middle of december

The media will be saying the same things then that they are now. As a whole, the media is corrupt and lazy. They have sold their collective soul to TPTB.

Nabi,do you really think they can ride thier dying horse all the way to the end...backlash to the spin seems inevitable.I know there pushing me to the edge.

Eric, you said, 'I know there pushing me to the edge.'

Who are they?

To the edge of what? A cliff? your ability to focus? to absorb? to deal with incongruent information?

There really is no need to obsess about any of this. If one is prepared, nothing said/imagined/misrepresented/spun/or hung out to dry by an anonymous They can ruin your day. Just take care of your business, day by day, be prepared for the inevitable glitches that will occur (Y2K or not) and when they come, you and yours will have a much easier time surviving and possibly even thriving in the soup of life.

This does require that one realize you cannot always follow the current stream of fashionable thought...as in, get rich betting on the stock market.

Sheila,

Sorry for the cynicism (sp?) but I don't see how anyone can "prepare" enough for Y2k so that they can look forward to "thriving". I hope (and think the chances are pretty good) for a BITR or up to a 3 but can not adequately anticipate all possible impacts and are prepping for 8-9. Even if it is as "minor" as an economic depression - what if our jobs are lost and unemployment surges and unemployment insurance runs out of $$? We are doing everything we can to insulate ourselves as much as possible but still sometimes worry.

Shelia, they are the media ,I guess the edge I,m on is the edge of losing faith in my fellow Americans, who can't seem to pick up the inconstancy in a three paragraph article.the rest of what you say is good advice.
